Statistics in Greenland

Statistics Greenland is the central authority within the area in Greenland. Statistics Greenland is under the Department of Finances of the Greenland Home Rule Government as an independent institution financed by the appropriation of the Parliament of Greenland and by orders from private and public customers.

Statistics Greenland collects process and publicizes statistical material concerning social issues in Greenland with the purpose for a solid ground for the decision makers, politically and administratively and for the analysis of social scientific research.

The enterprise of Statistics Greenland was founded in the Greenland Home Rule Act no. 5 of 19 July 1989 and later updated in Act no. 11 of 29 October 1999.
